Hi why has amazon video tv app stopped working on my hisense tv
JA: What Hisense model do you have? How old is it?
Customer: about 2 years old and the model is lol hold on ....
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: would it be 5300?
JA: How long has this been an issue with your Hisense? What happened right before this?
Customer: netflix has never worked nothing else

Ok, first try updating the TV and let me know if that works:

  • Press the settings buttonon your Hisense TV remote.
  • Go to “All”, then “About” and “Software Update”.
  • Press “Detect” to get the latest TV firmware.

The date can be updated from the router. But it cannot connect to the router wirelessly until the date is updated...

Can you try connecting the TV to the router using a network cable?

It’s plugged into the router but I’ve no idea how to change that. Would that be the answer if I could change it?

Yes, if the time is incorrect then you will get a security certificate error and will be unable to connect to Amazon and Netflix.

The date and time should update automatically when connected with a wire.

If it doesn't then try performing a factory reset on the TV and let me know if that works.
