My father (85 heart failure patient) is on a restricted diet

This answer was rated:

Hi there
My father (85 heart failure patient) is on a restricted diet (low potassium) due to renal failure (no dialysis required). He wants to start taking a probiotic but we do not know how good (or not) this will be for the kidney. The specific one he has been recommended contains Bifidobacterium infantis 35624 (and the product is called 'Align"). Many thanks for your help and advice...
Probiotics are very safe because they are natural. As long as you follow the directions in dosing on the bottle, he does not have to worry about causing any damage to his kidneys. Hope this helps and let me know if you have questions.
