Customer Question

I have had a dull ache in my testicles for some time. I need some advice on what it may be.
Assistant: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: I have and had an ultrasound (although) I believe that the ultrasound was not done properly.
Assistant: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: The pain gets worse when sit for long periods, post exercise extra.
Assistant: How long have you had the pain? What seems to make the pain better or worse?
Customer: For a couple of months. When I lay for a long period of time. It gets a bit better. When I get up in the morning, it is basically not there, but when I walk around and stand for a bit, the pain starts.

Hello. I'm Dr Chip

Why do you think the ultrasound wasn't done properly?

Are your testicles actually tender?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
The pain is on the left side, so the veins and the testicles on the left side. But the ultrasound was performed only on the other side. Even though the examine was told by me a few times.

Any lump or fluid sac on that side?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
they actually get worse as the day goes on. So in the morning there isn't much pain. But as I start
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Walking or stand still for a while, the pain comes.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

So is there anything abnormal that you can feel on that side?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Not lump, not sure what a fluid sac is
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
No the teaticles them selves physically from outside are fine. But they do feel tender (dull ache), pain when they get compressed.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

And has your doctor had any comment about this?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I also did get some abdominal abnormality, like a cramp.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

Did you have a prostate exam and a urinalysis?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Not a prostate exam.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
What is a urinalysis.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I have had a ultrasound and an mri on the lower back.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Once I was trying to figure out where the pain was coming from, and so I was feeling the veins etc. and some how something happened and I had a cramp all over my left leg. Glutes and the leg
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I have had my urine tested a couple of times
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

That's a urinalysis

What has your doctor said about this?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Every thing was fine. There was not problem with the urine.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I have been give medicine for infections too.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

What medicine and why?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
For STI's I believe, ciprofloxacin and doxycycline. Separately after the first didn't work.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I believe that I did not have any sti's
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

Did those help at all and how long were you on them?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
No, not at all. Ciprofloxacin for 2 weeks and the other for a week 2 too.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I have had a sti check and did not have any problems.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
By umbrella clinic
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

So why were you given those?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Those were give prior to me getting the sti check at the clinic.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

So it was assumed you did have an STI?

Why?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
My family has a history of varicoceles and that is why I think that the ultrasound was not done properly.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I went into a&e with extreme pain and they gave me the antibiotics.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
That was the first time it happened.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

Sorry for all the questions but at this point what information do you need from me?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I would like some advice on how to approach this. Do you think I should get another ultrasound performed. But my go gp won't refer me anymore. Might have to get it done privately.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 12 days ago.

It's most likely a varicocele problem and you need the proper ultrasound to check for that

Most times these don't need surgery unless they become very bothersome

Please let me know if you need any more information
