Customer Question

Hi , I have an 09 diesel Isignia which I have had for 5 trouble free months with 56000 miles on clock.

2 weeks ago the engine maintenance light stayed on permanently then this Sunday the emission light came on resulting in loss of power not being able to go up inclines at more than 20 - 30mph.

Yesterday a garage put a fault meter on it and detected the diesel particle filter was the fault. They explained the options and tried a dpm ( ? ) fluid in the fuel tank and advised driving in 3rd gear at 3 - 4K revs to reset fault. The emission light was out but engine maintenance light on.

After driving for 30 miles like this the car went back to normal and for a minute the engine maintenance light went out, When it came on I was still able to drive though experienced slight resistance on a hill after 7 miles of driving. The garage reset the light and found no faults. The car drove well for 30 mins until stuck in an uphill traffic jam it went on.

Last night I drove it and experienced resistance going uphill but could reach 50 - 60mph then after 30 miles it drove perfect but still with engine maintenance light on.

Can you advise what is happening and what I should do?
