Vauxhall astra twin top Sport . The Boot has stuck locked how do I open same


I am trying to get into it from the small drop down flap inbetween the rear seats BUT canot see how to do this

Welcome to Just Answer, The boot catch is a complicated piece of electric/mechanical engineering as it is a double pivot that swivels upwards for the roof to open and also the normal boot mode.

There is obviously a fault in the system and the ECU has disabled the catch.

Unfortunately there is no manual override and the only way around this is to "command" the catch with a Vauxhall Tech2 scanner, the fault will probably be broken wiring at the N/S boot hinge.

Sorry but a trip to a dealer or someone with a Tech2 or Opcom will be needed.
