Customer Question

I have a warning message & light coming up on my Insignia (2010). I get the ABS & Stability lights (car with squiggly lines under it) coming up and the message showing a spanner with "service stabili trak". What is wrong?

Hopefully i can help..

Stabilitrak on Vauxhalls is basically Electronic stability control system for the vehicle and handling to correct or hep prevent an understeer or oversteer condition - its take various readings from wheel sensors like areas via the ABS "anti lock braking system" aswell as the steering wheel position / engine throttle position/speed of the vehicle/suspension sensors to control the vehicle by usually applying specific amounts of brake force to each wheel aswell as control engine rpm etc...if at any point the system detects a fault then you will get these specific messages highlighted on the instrument panel aswell as on the info display..there could may things that could cause this most likely could be wheel speed sensor in regards to the abs system or software issue update required/wiring issue..the problem being unfortunately on such systems like this - there's absolutely very little you can do on an manual check bases on the stability control system without the aid of a proper diagnostic machine to track and monitor or trace the fault down etc.and the usual machine for these cars will have to be dealer level in most cases to make a proper diagnoses and then take it from there..That's about best way forward im afraid on this one..I do hope this helps
