Its a Astra H Twin top - 2 issues..... boot won't open, roof

won't drop and constant pinging... Show More
won't drop and constant pinging from the roof alarm - suggests a broken wiring loom..... Issue 2 - ABS and TC lights are intermittently on while driving. ABS pump and module unit, however, looks quite new - Any thoughts?
Assistant: Is it just the ABS light? Or is the brake system warning light on, too?
Customer: No - both the anti skid and ABS are lit
Assistant: What year is your Astra?
Customer: 2006 56 plate - it belongs to the missus ..... I had a similar problem on a 98 Jaguar XK8 - dealer wanted £1700 for new ABS unit but an auto sparky sorted that out - I guess I've had some experience with this issue and it was the same 2 warnings on the old jag - ABS fail and traction control fail
Assistant: Are you fixing your Astra yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I'd like to if I can..... I'm told the plug socket to the ABS module can cause issues but I can't locate it - looks like its under the water tank.... The roof issue will have to be a dealer to unlock the boot and replace the harness I'd imagine
Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I think thats it

Hello there,

First the car needs a scan for codes with a TECH2.

I have fixed many roof issues with Astra.

Could be broken wiring in the LH boot hinge assembly area.

Or parcel shelf flaps, luggage blind not fitted, boot switch short circuit.

The ABS fault could be a front wheel speed sensor.

So we need the codes for further diagnosis.
