Thank you for your question, I'm Dr. Dan and I'll try to help you.

These foods are not recommended for a couple of reasons. The temperature is not the problem it's the content. Potato skins can cause impactions and often have mold contamination (even if washed) and are not recommended. Bran is recommended fresh and only in very small amounts as too many carbohydrates and too little fiber will trigger a problem called GI stasis which can be expensive to treat and even fatal. It is best to stick with grasses and fresh greens as that is what their digestive tracts are designed to handle.
