Hello Sam, I'm Dr. Deb.

I recently came online and see that your question about Bella hasn't been answered. I'm so sorry that you've had to wait for a response, but if you still need assistance, I'd like to help if I can.

I do have a few questions to ask first, if you don't mind:

1. Is she showing any other signs such as nesting or restlessness?
2. How long has she had milk in her glands?
3. How often have you been taking her temperature? Is this the first time it's gone below 37.7?

There may be a delay after I receive your answers since I have to type up a response to you and I may be offline at the time you respond. But I'll get back to you as soon as I can. .

Thanks for your patience. Deb

Her milk has been in for four days now her temp has been below 37.7 for over 24 hrs average being around 37.3 I haven't noticed her nesting but she does seem a little restless lying down in her bed then moving to the rug then on the sofa and ect
Thanks so much for the additional information.

It sounds like gets getting pretty close to having her puppies.
I usually see milk come into the mammary glands at about 5-7 days before the pups are going to be born.
The temperature usually drops below 37.7 about 18-30 hours before delivery is to take place.

Of course, not all dogs behave in the same way but these are pretty accurate guidelines so she's probably getting ready to go into the first stage of labor...signs of which can include restlessness, nervousness, anorexia, vomiting, panting, shivering, pacing, scratching at the floor or starting to nest.

The second stage is delivery of a pup, which you may already know.
