my horse seems to have had an allergic reaction to some fly

Customer Question

my horse seems to have had an allergic reaction to some fly deterrent I had recommended. Swelling in the area is getting worse (around the genital area and between front legs) and spreading down her legs. Could this be anything more serious?

Dr. Jill :

Hi, I'm Dr. Jill. I'd be happy to help with your concerns about Tia.

Dr. Jill :

First off, is the swelling only in the areas where the fly repellant was applied? Any other signs like sores on the skin or hives? And is Tia still eating/drinking/pooping and acting like her normal self?
