i have a 10 year old female cat with a hyperactive thyroid. she has been prescirbed tablets for one month and will have an operation to remove the thyroid thereafter. i am having difficulty in giving her the tablets and is it al right to crush the tablets and mix in with her wet food
Hi there. Thanks for the question.Yes, you can crush the tablets and mix them with wet food. That is fine.If it is really not working, there is a compounded form of methimazole that is a transdermal gel- gets absorbed through the skin (usually applied to the inside of the ear).Best of luck.
