Please clarify if "inner ear" refers to the horizontal (rather than vertical) ear canal or you've been dealing with an inner/middle ear infection (otitis interna/otitis media). I suspect that the horizontal ear canal has been problematic. If so, this is addressed by first checking the cytology of that area microscopically in order to determine if Chess is dealing with a yeast, bacterial, or both infection and then treating specifically with either an antiyeast-, antibacterial-, or both-containing prescription otic product. Many of the prescription otic products are broad spectrum containing not only a potent antibiotic and antiyeast drug but also a corticosteroid which reduces inflammation and facilitates treating of these ears. If you're dealing with an otitis interna/media, however, a systemic antibiotic would be needed and surgical intervention (opening the ear drum in order to place medications in the middle ear, e.g.) might be considered. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
