My cat was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer over

Customer Question

hello my cat was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer over 2 mo ths ago..He didn't have a bone marrow biopsy, as myself and my vet felt the procedure would be too painful to put him through..His blood tests show that his white blood cell count is low and he has only slight regeneration going on..He is age 14, so not a young cat.. I have been treating him safely with herbal drops, for dogs and cats with cancer and a nutri paste with some iron in it..I would like to know if it is safe to give a cat a very low dose of human iron tablet, ferrous sulphate? I would not do anything to put him at risk, as I love him very much. Thank you.

There's no harm in supplementing with iron. For example, a common vitamin-mineral supplement for cats might contain 5 mg per tablet designed to be given daily. Please see here: and please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
