My went into labour this morning, the first pup was

My bitch went into labour this morning, the first pup was delivered at 9am this morning but unfortunatly didn't survive, my bitch has now gone to sleep... Is this normal?

Georgie, I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. To answer you directly, yes, Kacey's behavior can be normal. Dystocia (difficult birth) is diagnosed when

1) Active stage 2 labor (active contractions) lasts more than an hour without producing a pup

2) More than 3 hours pass between pups without active contractions
