Customer Question

My dog is 8 and a half KG. I cook for him myself as he has inflammatory bowel disease.
Feed him chicken/fish/turkey and rice/sweet potato BUT I don't know how many grams should be meat and how many grams should be rice. Could you find out for me please? A vet once told me but I can't remember! Archie is 3 and a half years old. He is at the vets a lot !!

Dr. Paul Brazzell here.

Dogs should get 25 grams of protein per 1000 kcal of food(energy) that they eat.

Your dog needs about 350 calories a day (kcal)

So that would be about 9 grams of protein

So you can feed the protein based on that. The rest then is the rice.

Make sense?
