Customer Question

HiMy cat has had a few bouts of wretching without bringing anything up, each time it tends to happen is early in the morning, it's happened 3-4 times now over a period of 7-8 days, the gap between the previous wretch and latest was almost a week. After each moment the cat is a little reserved but then returns to normal.Should I take her to local vet or continue to monitor her? Thanks

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today.

Any lapse in her appetite or how much she is drinking?

Are her gums (or inner eyelids) pink, yellow, or white/pale? Moist or sticky?

If you press on her belly, any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain?

Could she have eaten anything harmful (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, human medications/drugs, etc)?
