Veterinary questions? Ask a Vet for Answers ASAP
Hi there, you are through to Dr Linda, a UK based vet.
Inflammation does not necessarily require antibiotics, but an infection usually will.
What type (e.g. cream / liquid) and which ones, would depend on the type of infection present.
So, we would need to have Puuka assessed by the vet. If an infection is present, it would ideally be swabbed and analysed so we know which bacteria are there and which antibiotics will work.
Unfortunately, online vets cannot issue prescriptions or medicines. It MUST be a vet who has physically seen Puuka, examined the leg and weighed Puuka to determine appropriate dose.
I hope this is all ok?
No problem at all and sorry I couldn't be of more help. Any more questions, just let me know.
Hi there, how is Puuka getting on?
