My 5month old golden retriever has swallowed 10 my fluoxetine, what should I do ?
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How much does the Golden Retriever weigh?
Customer: 14kg
JA: When was this? Has the Golden Retriever thrown up since eating the Fluoxetine?
Customer: 15 minutes ago and not been sick .
JA: And what's the Golden Retriever's name and age?
Customer: Oscar 4 months old.
JA: Is there anything else the Vet should know about Oscar?

Hi there, this is Dr Linda, a UK based vet.

This is a medicine we use in dogs for various conditions including aggression and other behavioural issues.

We use it at a dose of 1 to 2 mg/kg, so Oscar has not had an overdose and we wouldn't expect any toxicity or problems.

You may notice slight lethargy and a reduced appetite but side effects should be mild and short-lived.

Do keep a close eye on Oscar but he should be just fine.
