Veterinary questions? Ask a Vet for Answers ASAP
Hello, this is Dr Linda, a UK based vet.
I'm sorry to hear this and understand your concern for Chopper.
Is he lethargic or off his food?
Would a photo of the lesion be possible please?
I am just downloading it now, thank you.
Is it possible she has been bitten by another dog?
We can see two puncture marks and they do appear evenly spaced so it appears he has an animal bite, but there are other considerations, such as a spider bite.
The bruising is significant and he has pus leaking out.
He needs to see a vet ASAP for antibiotics and anti inflammatories.
We should clean out the pus with salt water at home if tolerated.
I'm afraid I cannot make you an appointment. You need to do this directly with your own vet.
This is an online advice service that the PDSA advise their clients use.
However, to make an appointment with them, you need to fill in their online call back form.
If your local clinic is not answering or cannot see you, you will need to call another vet.
If finances are a concern, please let the vet know so they can work with you and keep costs low.
I'd want her seen today if at all posisble.
I do hope this has helped and please let me know if there is anything else,
Take care,
Linda.
