Hello there and welcome to Just Answer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be assisting you today. I am an engineer with over 30 years of electrical and electronic training, repair and installation experience. I will try and answer your question accurately and precisely so that we can get you on your way.

Ok, when you say that it won't work, does the camera at least power up?

If so, do you hear any clicking of the lens mechanism?

Please let me know so that we can continue.

So what is happening is that the camera is trying to extend the lens but it can't. Most likely the lens mechanism is damaged and would need to be looked at.

Where abouts are you in the UK?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

i am in aberdeenshire the camera is under a year old and how much would it cost

Are there any physical signs that you dropped the camera? Any scratches or nicks in the camera body?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

no just the lense cover doesnt close either but no scratches or other damage just the zoom doesnt work , the camera takes pictures but you cant make them out as no focus , it still looks like new

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

the drop happened in my daughters bedroom from dresser onto floor

Ok, what I would probably do is call Samsung UK and explain to them that the camera is neither focusing nor zooming. Do not tell them that it was dropped - in fact, deny that if asked.Just tell them that you turned it on one morning and it is not working.

The camera has a 12 month warranty. They should fix it for you.

They are opentoday - Saturday, and you can call them at 0330 SAMSUNG (7267864)

This is your only option.

I like to keep in touch with customers that have these kind of issues and find out how they faired so please let me know the eventual outcome.

Good luck.
