Try a hard reset: Remove the battery, memory card (if installed) and disconnect any usb cables. Press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds. Allow the camera to sit idle for 20 minutes. Press the Power button once. Reinstall the battery only and attempt to power the camera on. If successful, insert the memory card.
If not, return the camera to the point of purchase, there is a factory defect. If for whatever reason, return is not possible, your camera should still be under Nikon's factory warranty.
