I have a Samsung DV150F camera which I dropped with the zoom

Customer Question

I have a Samsung DV150F camera which I dropped with the zoom lens out while on holiday.
When I now try to turn the power on it comes up with an error message saying the zoom did not operate properly and I need to contact the service center.

Hello my name is***** look forward to assisting and am very sorry to hear that you are having this problem.
I want to warn you that it is possible you will need to replace a part in order to fix this.
There are a few different things that can cause this and a couple different parts so we would need to troubleshoot to find out for sure.
Is the lens still stuck out?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

The lens is stuck inside the camera

Expert:  Freddy M. replied 3 years ago.
Darn that is not good, if it was stuck extended it could have been off center from the fall. But if it is inside the body that is not possible. How old is the camera? If it is over a year old did you happen to get an extended warranty?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

It was bought last christmas

Ok good call this number 0330(###) ###-####try to avoid mentioning it was dropped as that would void the warranty. This is a common problem so since you are under warranty still with it being under a year old it would normally be replaced. They will have to try some things first (removing the battery etc) because Samsung requires it even if they already know the problem, but it will come down to the lens needing to be replaced which would be covered.
