Customer Question

Hi - I have a Nikon D700 ( about two years old and average pro usage) and I'm starting to see when shooting vertically occasionally no image at all - just unevenly blacked out and sometimes just a partial image showing, and then it can be ok again for another 20 shots or so. Horizontal shooting is ok at all times. Any idea what this can be.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.
I suspect that you have a connector inside the camera that is coming loose a little when shooting vertically. This will require that a camera tech open the camera and re-seat or otherwise cure the connector or internal connection problem.
If you need any guidance as to where to take, or send, the camera for such work, please tell me your location.
