My camcorder wasn't used for a few years now that I have charged it the message say to reset once reseted the message on screen says to service
Hello my name is***** do not rate until we are finished. I look forward to assisting and am very sorry to hear that you are having this problem. I want to warn you that it is possible you will need to replace a part in order to fix this. There are a few different things that can cause this and a couple different parts so we would need to troubleshoot to find out for sure. What is the exact and entire error including any numbers?

Please re operate after pushing reset button

Once done the message on screen just says in red to service
Next to the eject button there should be a tiny pin hole reset button. Use something like an unbent paper clip to push that. Remove the cassette and curl you finger onto the play head (the silver drum at the bottom of the compartment) from below, gently nudge the play head (a silver strip on the drum) back and forward. Put the cassette back in and test it again. You may have to reset again. If this did not work, please come back and let me know what happened when you tried it by clicking on reply to expert so we can continue. If it did work, please don’t forget to leave a positive rating - it is greatly appreciated.

After reset still the message says to seevice
Darn that normally means the heads need to be replaced. Did you happen to get an extended warranty? The longest I know of would last 5 years.

No I don't think so it was one of my sister did not use it for a long time lost all the acessories with it had to by a charger and extra batteries just to find out that it's not in working order
Over time these wear and can sometimes warp when that happens the heads need to be replaced. If you can find a smaller local shop that still works on them they usually charge a little over an hours labor to fix this. The rate is different from shop to shop so you would need to call around for the best price. If you have any questions at all click on reply to expert and let me know. If not please don’t forget to leave a positive rating for my help - it is greatly appreciated. Please note you are rating me only not this site or your Panasonic.
