Hi,

The Flash does not operate in the ASR mode, [Macro], [Landscape], [Text], [Sunset], [Dawn], [Firework] scene modes and the Movie clip mode, so ensure you are not in any of those modes.

Hope that helps.

Best Regards,

Rich

Hi,

For the Flash / Left button to work, the menu must not be showing on the LCD - do you get to that point where you can press the Flash button to select the flash mode and does it appear on the LCD?

Best Regards,

Rich

Hi Tom,

I don't know if you have the manual but you can download it here (sorry it's too big for me to attach):

http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200802/20080222094524765_NV3_English.pdf

On pg 26 it shows which Flash mode is available by Recording Mode (the key for the icons is shown on pg 9).

I suspect you are in Auto mode as that only has 3 flash option including No Flash.

If you change the Recording Mode to Program mode you should see all Flash options.

Hope that helps.

Best Regards,

Rich

Hi Tom,

It may depend on which Flash mode you're in and the lighting conditions.

Auto Flash only works when it's too dark, but if you try Fill-In Flash then the Flash should fire regardless of the light level.

Rich

Hi Tom,

Is the battery fully charged, this will affect the performance of the flash.

Hi Tom,

Try going back to Auto Flash and taking some shots in a darkened room.

Also, when you take a photo try pressing the shutter button halfway down for a while.

Rich

Hi Tom,

I'm out of ideas, so maybe worth talking to whoever you purchased this from about this?

Best Regards,

Rich
