An RW2 format is what as known as a RAW format, it is a file type that is larger than a JPEG because it retains every pixel taken in the original image, unlike JPEGs which get compressed and reduced inside the camera during processing.
Each camera company has their own version of a RAW file format and RW2 is Panasonic's version.
RAW file formats are the best format to use if you're a photographer who edits their photos after because all the quality is retained, but if you don't want that and care more about smaller file sizes with JPEGS, here's how to switch it on your camera:
Press these buttons in this order...
MENU --> REC (camera icon) --> [Quality]
Then select JPEG under the options, which looks like 3 squares or 2 rows of three squares.
