I am seeking information on converting an S40 diesel to a petrol

Customer Question

I am seeking information on converting an S40 diesel to a petrol engine. I have a 2.0 petrol engine and a S40 with a blown diesel engine.

I have considered doing this myself but the work and cost involved its not worth it, in addition to the engine you would need at least the below items.

Engine ecu
Engine and main wiring harness
Petrol fuel tank
Petrol fuel pump
Petrol fuel lines
Petrol instrument cluster
Petrol radiator
I also believe the gearbox and driveshafts would need to be chnaged
Brake servo as on a diesel it has a vacuum pump and the petrol doesn't.

In terms of labour I'd expect it to take approximately 100 hours assuming no problems along the way - my advice would be to sell both and buy a petrol car.

I hope this helps you make your decision.
