Have replaced XC70 Haldex Unit due worn pinion bearing but now left with drumming noise from front area noticeable at speeds of 70mph plus

Enes : Hello and welcome to our web page here my name isXXXXX a Certified Volvo Car Expert Mechanic.I'm going to try today to answer your question.
Enes : So you replaced haledex on your own ? Is the awd working now ?
Enes : Now the noise. You say is more from front ?
Enes : the front angle trasfer case where you center drive shaft connects the inside bearing. Or coolar sleeve can be worn and make noise thr mechanic needs to inspect close angle gear transfter case in front
Enes : also check all wheel bearings just in case
Enes : best try drive car on light at that speed and listen from under

The rear on demand coupling was stripped and serviced by a professional Autogearbox specialist at half the price demanded by main Volvo dealer. This solved the original worn bearing noise from the rear diff. All thought OK until first time on MWay when new noise now from front arose only noticeable at speeds 65 or above but very noisy with (I think) some slight vibration on steering wheel. Wheel bearings checked. Two garages (one a Volvo one can't work out where noise coming from.

Vehicle always serviced and now done 85,000 miles
