I have a new XC60 D4 R Design Geartronic. When starting and pulling away from cold first thing in the morning, there is a significant rattling noise when applying power to the engine. After the first short journey, the engine is stopped and then restarted, the noise disappears.
Back to the Volvo dealership. Put through full computer diagnostics, but could find no faults. Apparently made a couple of tweaks and I was given the car back. The problem still persisted and I made three separate recordings on my phone of this noise on its first journey on a cold engine.
The dealership acknowledged these, took in the car again for two or three days and agreed there was a problem. They changed the fuel injectors and gave me back the car again. Still the problem persists. For example, first journey yesterday morning - very noisy for three miles approx. until I stopped at the side of the road, restarted and the she pulls away very smoothly with no noise.
The dealership have reported this to Volvo UK but it appears this is a unique problem to them. Any thoughts?

Hi Enes - try this link -

Enes :
Enes : it sound like beating noise on engine
Enes : i assume this noise at idle not driving
Enes : if that is case I would remove belt and re run test for noise if noise goes away test bearing pulleys on drive belt
Enes : like water pump power steering pump and pulleys
Enes : if noise still there than you must look at alternator and a compressor if those are good
Enes : than noises from engine read unit and that is big engine repair on that extension of read unit you can replace bearings
Enes : if your noise is by driving. Then it sounds like wheel bearings
