Hi my name is ***** ***** am here to assist you Today what was the original issue it was at the dealers for a diagnostic test was it a drivability issue or had it just put the engine warning light on.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Car had a "Soot filter full" message appear. We went to get it cleaned and put on again. Went to the dealership to reset and get rid of the message and well as to check up on the general health of the car, incase we missed or should be aware of something else

Has the BCM (Body Control Module) been looked at / checked.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
To my knowledge no
Expert:  Gavin Perry replied 12 days ago.

I think it has more than one issue but you need to start at the BCM.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
How would I diagnose a faulty BCM?
Expert:  Gavin Perry replied 12 days ago.

You would need to use an Oscilloscope to look at the wave format on the CAB BUS lines.

Expert:  Gavin Perry replied 12 days ago.

CAN (Control Area Network)

Expert:  Gavin Perry replied 12 days ago.

rather than CAB that was a typing error.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Do you know any services that can test a BCM for us?
Expert:  Gavin Perry replied 12 days ago.

You need to find someone that is confident using a scope try http://www.boschcarservice.com they are independents but they will know how to diagnose CAN issues.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
the issue of injectors not receiving a signal could be the BCM to blame? Thanks, ***** ***** into it. Site says there's one nearby.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
On the issue as a whole, the car has no power and loads of black smoke. What do you think could be the most likely culprit?EGR has been replaced.
Swirl flaps replaced.
DPF and sensors replaced.
Compressions are fine.
MAF sensor changed.
Injectors all fully work
Expert:  Gavin Perry replied 12 days ago.

You said "there's no signals being passed for the injectors after checking with noid lights" is this correct.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I saw a dim light when checking cylinder 1 connector with a noid light, no other cylinder connector lit up. I understand that as there being no electricity in that connection. Part of me thinks that the battery might be too low, but I can turn the engine for ages and I think that takes much more power than a single electrical connection to an injector
Expert:  Gavin Perry replied 12 days ago.

It all goes back to using a scope and looking at wave formats crank / cam wave format for example see image

Expert:  Gavin Perry replied 11 days ago.

Keep me posted with how you get on.

Customer: replied 11 days ago.
Thank you for the help. I'll get to it and see how far I can get
